Dear Parents,

I want to thank all those who joined us for our Multicultural Feast on November 22nd.  We had over 80 family members and staff celebrating together, and so many of you were generous in sharing a food item for the feast, and/or donating non-perishable foods for the “Your Grandmother’s Cupboard” organization.  What a fabulous community we have!

We’ve got an exciting month in December, including a Holiday Shop for the children, and Mrs. Sullivan’s class will have a “Sing-Along” for parents of students in that class.   And, during our first week we have Pajama Days to raise money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.  (more…)

Dear Families,

Wow! Can October be ending already?  We hope your grandparents enjoyed the Pumpkin Picking Hayride in October-we love having our families join us.  (It was a shame we had to cancel the Halloween parade due to the weather…the kids were adorable!)

We have another special event for families coming up, and we hope you will continue to participate! Please mark your calendars for our Multicultural Family Feast, scheduled for Friday, November 22nd at 6:00 p.m. (more…)

Dear Parents,

Dear Families,

Welcome to The Peppermint Tree Child Development Center, 2019 – 2020 school year!  We are so very happy to have each and every one of you in our group of families this year.  We are looking forward to an enriching and enjoyable year with your family.  And…we are off to a fabulous start!

During the first weeks of school, your children will be getting to know their teachers, learning the daily routines, meeting new friends and finding out about all the things they can do in the classroom and on the playground.  Starting school is exciting!  Our teachers in all classrooms use the Creative Curriculum, a proven, research-based curriculum, to guide intentional teaching activities and experiences for each age group.  This is the same curriculum that the Toms River School system has selected for Kindergarten preparation.  The teachers will be letting you know about all their exciting activities as they unfold in the classroom.

We are proud that our program has been awarded a 4-star rating in the state’s Grow NJ Kids High Quality Preschool Rating System.  We know your children will benefit from the engaging activities we have in store for them!

We like to make sure you know what is happening at school, so each month you will receive this newsletter from me to keep you updated on events planned here at The Peppermint Tree. I post the monthly newsletter on our website (  for your reference anytime. You can access the daily events calendar at our website at the following link:

Peppermint Tree Events Calendar:

We will be emailing you each month with a link to the newsletter rather than giving you a paper newsletter. We would like to save paper where we can.

As always, if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to give us a call at the office: (732) 929-2500. (more…)

Dear Families,

Once the display is up, we will send a note home in your child’s backpack if their work is hanging in the Toms River Library.)

Our staff will also be participating in the Ocean County Children’s Festival event, Saturday, April 13th, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. at Toms River Library.  We hope you can attend:  This is a FREE family event that requires no advance registration.  The theme is “Full STEAM Ahead to Celebrate Children”, and will offer lots of family friendly  Science, Technology, Engineering, Art,  and Mathematics (STEAM) activities, as well as information and entertainment.  There will be a “Mad Science” presentation as a finale to the festival, from 11;30 a.m. – Noon.  This will also be a great opportunity to view the artwork we, and other preschools in Ocean County, have on display in the library.

We hope your family can join us! (more…)
