Afternoons at the Peppermint Tree are so cool!

We have offered many opportunities for learning and creativity:
Art: watercolors with glue resist and crayon resist, painting with chalk paint, painting and stamping shells, fingerprint art

Construction: small castles and Peppermint Tree puppet theater castle, sand art containers, making shell wind chimes, making and flying airplanes, origami, making and test flying frisbees

Drama/literature: making and using puppets, book themed project (Rainbow Fish)

Science: making and sailing boats (learning what centerboard and mast are) , making and playing with “moon sand”, learning facts about horseshoe crabs, star fish, and coral.

We’ve done all that and it’s still September—we’ve got lots more in store! Stay tuned!

Take a look at this picture for our latest Science experiment on “Friction”–the rice is gripping the pencil…COOL!!!
