Home and School Connection at The Peppermint Tree
October 15th, 2010 by Valerie Frost-LewisMany research studies have shown that when families get involved with their children’s school, children have a much better chance of doing well in school both academically and socially. At Peppermint Tree, we enjoy providing you many varied opportunities to participate here, so that you can get to know your child’s teachers, your child’s friends and their families, as well. We also offer an opportunity for you to be a part of deciding upon and creating family activities with our staff on our Strengthening Families committee. We value our families and invite your participation in our school community.
We have so many events coming up that involve our families, that I wanted to list them all in this special post so everyone is aware of the dates and can mark their calendars. All of these are also listed on our event calendar.
October 20th & 21st Grandparents are invited to our Pumpkin Picking Hayride event, starting at 9:30 a.m. (special time for each classroom, see your child’s teacher) Enjoy donuts and cider on the playground afterwards.
October 18th at 6:30 p.m. Free parent workshop to stop childhood bullying, at Toms River Library.
October 28th & 29th Parents invited to our annual Halloween Parades at 9:30 a.m. Enjoy donuts and cider on the playground afterwards.
November 19th at 6:30 p.m. All family memebrs are invited to our Thanksgiving Feast. This is a wonderful event to share together with family and friends.
December 3rd is our first Pajama Club evening of the year…parents have a chance to go out and get holiday shopping done, or just have a quiet dinner, while volunteer parents from our Strengthening Families group and staff watch your kids!!
Looking forward to being with you for all of these family events!
