Please remember that as per the State of New Jersey requirements, all children who attend Peppermint Tree who are under 5 years of age, must get an annual Flu shot, before December 31.

The Ocean County Health Department will now provide children with flu shots at all of the clinics they run for immunizations (not only for adults). The first flu shot clinic is scheduled for Wednesday, October 13, 1:30 -3:30 p.m. at the Ocean County Library, Toms River Branch, as a part of Ocean County Day. (Cost: $20.00)

Here is more information about Ocean County Day and a contact number regarding the flu shot clinic: Oct. 13 is Ocean County Day, when more than 25 county government departments and affiliated agencies will hold an open house under one roof. This year’s host is the Toms River Branch of the Ocean County Library, 101 Washington St., Toms River. Admission is free to the event, which will be held from noon to 4 pm. Pneumonia and influenza inoculations will be administered from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. For those who are eligible and 65 years or older, the Health Department will bill Medicare Part B. For all others, the shots are available for $20. A doctor’s note is required for anyone under 65 years requesting a pneumonia shot.
